Right from our very first day in 1921, Weleda has been committed to restoring health and maintaining wellbeing for all people naturally, safely and ethically. With these values in mind we farm most of our natural ingredients biodynamically (over 135 acres worldwide) and where we use wild ingredients these are harvested under controlled certified collection rules. We've established over 100 global fairly traded partnerships, our bodycare products are made without animal testing, petrochemicals or GM ingredients, and our minimal packaging is wholly recyclable, too. In this way our business works to improve the quality of life of our customers and our co-workers while respecting and enhancing our shared environment.

ABOUT WELEDA

Weleda exists to create 100% natural products and we have been doing so since 1921. During this time we have never used synthetic ingredients, non-natural preservatives, artificial fragrances and colourants in our products nor have we ever tested our products on animals.

At Weleda, we passionately believe that health is much more than a lack of disease but instead is an integrated state of physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. This was the view of our founder Rudolf Steiner 90 years ago and it underpins everything we do. We compose our natural products with the utmost care and passion. They are more than cosmetics, medicines or skincare. They work holistically for you as a whole. Our medicines treat the whole person, enabling you to take responsibility for your own health, while restoring your inner balance and strengthening your life force.

We believe in working in harmony with nature and we create products that respect the environment, local communities and our global customers alike.

Our entire action is based on sustainability and on being respectful of each other and with nature. We strive continuously to improve the purity of our products, how we make them and the impact this has on the world we live in.

We have very clear standards for our products

When we say “all natural,” we mean “all natural.”

We aim to use only the purest wild-crafted, organically and Biodynamically cultivated ingredients for our products. Toxins, additives and raw materials from mineral oils simply won’t do.

But natural isn’t enough for us, our ingredients have to be effective too. They have to work with your body’s own ability to heal, restore well-being and impart radiance. So to ensure our ingredients maintain their innate potency, we harvest them quickly, then process them as little as possible, taking excellent care of them along the way.

We feel a certain level of responsibility to our crops the same way we feel a responsibility to you.

And because we believe unwaveringly in cultivating beauty for all creatures, we don’t test our skin care products or their ingredients on animals and neither do our suppliers. Period. No asterisk, no small print.
